Looking back, I think brevity and timeliness were the things that stood out. I really did feel like stuff was “going on” in the Obama campaign, because the (short) emails that I would get would would have to do with something that was still in my mental RAM.
And yeah, I was a conversion on the not deafening but omnipresent “donate now” link a couple of times, and I may not have donated as much if those emails hadn’t hit my inbox.
