I’m so looking forward to this, even if I feel apprehensive, as I’m just a so-so coder. But hey, I have other untapped strengths. Surely. Maybe.

I wouldn’t worry! I’ve read at least ten other people who’ve said almost the same thing.. everyone thinks they’re mediocre which, by logical definition, means everyone is great ;-) I’m sure we’ll all just have a laugh. Look forward to seeing you there!

Hey, thanks for your comment… I’m trying to make commenting easier here. My hoster recently gave me a knock on the fingers because of spammers that took up too much CPU time via comments.

Looking forward to meeting you, too!

Hi, Nice to find someone else who’s nervous about the hackday. I’m not even sure I’m looking forward to it - at the moment I’m just doing the apprehensive.

Hackday preparation.

Well, part of it is buying chocolate and fresh fruit to help making it through the long night.

Be that as it may, while looking at the presentation schedule for Saturday I found a total gem — Kent Brewster’s “Build a BBC Search Widget in Under an Hour”. He’s previously done one for a Wikipedia search, and which is published on his site. This is one of the best web front-end programming tutorials I’ve ever seen. Thorough, utterly clear and understandable, and flawlessly presented. I’m about half-way through with the Wikipedia one; fell asleep over it last night, in fact.
